Lina
Goglio was born in Alpette, a small town nearTurin, Italy, and there
she lives and works at n.1, piazza Forno. All that is nature, the
immediate contact with the landscape, with flowers and little familiar
things have allowed Lina Goglio to understand the wonderful harmony
of colours and relish the intimate beauty of things.
The
painter uses a new technique of relief painting with varied materials,
very often sand coming from various part of the world. There are
in fact pictures using the white sand from Kenia, pink sand from
the Pink Dune of Kanab in Utah, volcanic sand from Hawaii, sand
from Monument Valley in Arizona, Marocco, Denmark, France
In
some of the pictures the sand retains its natural colour.
The material is worked into a rilief, and then follows a chemical
process wich hardens the sand to the texture of glass, it is at
this stage that the painting takes place.
Materials
used are sand, glue, pasta, rice and iron filings.
Critical
Appreciations
Accademia
Araldica Internazionale
"IL MARZOCCO" Florence 26 October 1997
In
her numerous works, Lina Goglio has adopted many languages (styles)
including the "Avantguard" using as her technique the
Picture-Sculpture. In her painting "Le stagioni Assemblage"
has used a rich, luminous colour full of light and half-light.
This
Still Life is a story of real things, the objects seem detached
from the canvas in a creation chromatically alive and tasteful.
The coloration and preciousness of her work and the expressive richness
are from the temperament of Lina Goglio.
Accademia
Italiana "GLI ETRUSCHI" Vada Livorno 24 August 1997
The
work is a triumph of wisely used colours which maintains a balance
between the objects depicted in relief and the tonality of the background.
The
result pleasantly wins for itself with the delicateness of hte object
and the success of the colours. Lina Goglio is confirmed as an artist
(painter), both diligent and well prepared who manages to insert
in her creations a breath of Springlike enthusiasm.
